Corn Syrup

There are a lot of people out there who think that high fructose corn syrup is bad for you and it should be eliminated from our diets.  This isn't entirely true.  High fructose corn syrup is made up of glucose and fructose just like regular table sugar.  The only difference is that it has a higher percentage of fructose.  High fructose corn syrup is added to many products that you wouldn't expect such as tomato sauce, bread, soup, etc, and it adds a lot of extra calories.  I think the biggest problem with high fructose corn syrup is that most consumers don't know how much of it their eating.  Unless you read the labels of everything you buy at the grocery store, you are unaware of how much of this sugar you are putting into your body, and this is what causes obesity.  I believe that everything should be consumed in moderation.
